What are the At Home Materials?

The Kindermusik Home Materials are an integral and unique component  of our program. at the start of each term your child will receive age-appropriate learning tools that go home with you as well as access to a wealth of music games and activities digitally. This makes Kindermusik so much more than just a weekly class. Your At Home Materials are just the tools you need to continue that one-of-a-kind experience together as a family.

The Home Materials for all our classes provided on the first day of class as part of the enrolment fee. We have two themes per term so our Home Materials encompass and relate to those themes

Home Materials:

  • Story Book – Board book for babies, soft-cover book for toddlers and pre-schoolers with delightful, colourful artwork.
  • Two Home CD – Features all songs and chants from our two themes!
  • Instrument - age-appropriate
  • @Home Materials - As well as the Physical materials listed above, enrolment in our program also gives you digital access for a range of activities, games and music related to our two themes. Its a simple download or stream at home on your phone, tablet, laptop or home computer

What should I expect from a preview Class?

We welcome you to preview a class -  it is a wonderful opportunity to meet Jenny and see how our classes work in action. You will also see the variety of the activities in a typical Kindermusik class and also to see the quality of the At Home Materials.

While we will invite everyone to participate in the activities it is wise not to expect too much from your child on the first day. It is not uncommon for a child to attend for several weeks before feeling comfortable in class. Don’t be discouraged – what a child is absorbing in class is often evidenced in the comfort of the home environment rather than in a certain level of participation in class. The most important thing you can do for your child is to be an active and patient role model.

What should we bring?

Ideally we dont have food in the class and that snacks be finished prior to class. Be sure to dress comfortably as we will be on the floor as well as dancing, jumping etc!

Are parents involved in the class?

Yes, parents play an important role in any Kindermusik class.

During class, the most important thing you can do for your child is to be an active and patient role model. It is not uncommon for a child to attend for several weeks before feeling comfortable in class. Don’t be discouraged – what a child is absorbing in class is often evidenced in the comfort of the home environment rather than in a certain level of participation in class. The understanding and consistency of the parent or caregiver in the class and at home are key to facilitating musical learning and growth.

You and your child will benefit enormously from the Kindermusik experience, especially if you make active use of your At Home Materials. Reinforcement and enjoyment of the Kindermusik materials make all the difference to a child’s feeling of comfort and security in the classroom.

The first half hour of the Laugh & Learn for 3-5 year olds, the children attend on their own but all family members are invited into the class for the final 15 minutes of Sharing Time.
